The kids and I put to good use the multitude of acorns we have collected by making acorn trees. The craft came together super simple: first, we painted our acorns...I let the kids have at it andtried to not hover and expect perfection. Its so much easier when you just let go, isn't it? sesond, they glued the acorn "hats" back on. Next, I assisted by hot glueing twine to the tips for hanging. They then decorated the twigs the collected with their acorn decorations. After I just arranged them in a glass vase and voila....I beautiful autumn centerpiece.

What a fantastic idea! I might have to try that, except our acorns are really small down here. Once when I was a kid we painted walnuts red and glued tiny white beads on them to make them look like strawberries. Then we glued ribbon to the top and hung them on our Christmas tree. It's fun to see them, all these years later, still hanging off my Christmas tree.
